About Us
Mesob is a traditional Ethiopian, Eritrean, and Caribbean restaurant, located in the heart of Kansas City. We’re dedicated to serving authentic delicacies with homemade quality flavors. The menu offers beef, lamb, goat, poultry, seafood, and a wide variety of delectable vegetable dishes, which also meet the western standards of vegan food preparation.
The Caribbean fritters were delicious with a spicy cilantro sauce. The Ethiopian vegetarian combination was delicious as well. Despite the menu stating 3 lentil dishes, it’s two plus the split peas. (Peas are a pulse, so maybe…) Tikil Gomen, collard greens, Fosolia, yellow split peas, Misor Wot, and salad. The Misor Wot was spicy and delicious. The combination did not come with enough injera, and trying to get the waitress’ attention to ask for more injera was impossible. Once we did, she brought us our check without asking.
It got better as time went on, or maybe that’s just because we eventually got our food, but I just didn’t understand why service was lacking in almost all ways at a really neat place.
