Queen Of Sheba-Ethiopian Restaurant

Queen of Sheba(Ethiopian Restaurant) a very elegant and tasty cuisine of Ethiopian food (Provided by Ethiopian Yellow Pages) was established in the 1990’s as a business concept that would develop and introduce Ethiopian products in the United States market.

In 1996 we inaugurated our Queen of Sheba Ethiopian Restaurant. In its first year, the restaurant earned 3-½ stars. By 1997 Queen of Sheba Restaurant had become one of the best restaurants in Portland. Most of our products and ingredients are directly imported from Ethiopia. Through this restaurant corridor, we have been able to introduce our varied exotic flavors of spices, tea, coffee, grains, and legumes. We believe that we have built quit a large base of clients that love our products.

Ethiopian Cuisine is one of the most popular African Cuisines in the world. Not only does Ethiopian food offer a wide array of vegetarian, vegan-friendly, gluten-free, and meat lover dishes, but combines flavors with unique signatures such as Berbere and Injera.

Queen Sheba is a Sacramento-based restaurant providing authentic Ethiopian cuisine. Come taste our vibrant colors and spices!

We have been thriving in the Sacramento area for over 10 years. We take a great deal of pride in our from-scratch cooking with individual and very unique recipes that were developed and passed down from mother to daughter in Ethiopia for generations.

Queen Sheba takes reservations, walk-ins welcome, good for groups, good for kids, take out, catering, waiter service, and outdoor seating available.

Ethiopian cuisine consists of vegetable and/or meat side dishes and entrees, often prepared as a wot (thick stew). One or more servings of wot are placed upon a piece of Injera, a large sourdough flatbread, which is roughly 20 inches in diameter and made from fermented Teff flour. One does not eat with utensils, but instead uses the Injera (always with the right hand) to scoop the food into the bread.

Traditional Ethiopian food does not use any pork or seafood (aside from fish), as most Ethiopians have historically adhered to religious dictates which prohibit eating pork. Additionally, throughout a given year, Christians observe numerous fasts (such as Lent), during which food is prepared without any meat or dairy products. Another traditional dish served in Ethiopia is Doro wot, which is chicken stew with hard boiled eggs.
